How to use the Mumasil Breast Milk Collection Shells

Instructions
  1. Place the Mumasil Breast Milk Collection Shell inside your nursing bra with the silicone side opening facing up.
  2. Position the in-built spout so it is facing the top of your nursing bra.
  3. Lift your nursing bra on to your breast, aligning the silicone opening with your nipple and placing it centred over your nipple.
  4. Adjust your bra if needed so that the shells are enough to feel just pressing against your breast. There doesn't have to be a lot of pressure to make them seal against your breast and your breast will naturally get bigger as it fills up with milk.
Removing the Breast Shells
  1. When removing the shell, lean forward slightly ensuring that no milk spills out and carefully remove the shell from your maternity bra.
  2. Using the in-built spout pour breast milk into a baby bottle or breast milk storage container.
  3. Place back on the breast in between feeds or rinse ready for the next feed.
Care Instructions Before first use: Wash in warm soapy water and sterilise. Once daily: Separate parts and wash in warm soapy water. Rinse thoroughly with water.
  • Steam sterilise safe.
  • Dishwasher safe (top rack).
  • Please do not use abrasive cleaning agents or solvents.

What is the difference between the Deluxe Breast Milk Collection Shells and the standard shells?

The Deluxe Shells have a plug on the top of the shell to help prevent leakage when moving around. They also come with a useful travel case. The deluxe shells are also an improved shape - thinner and less noticeable in a bra.

How do the Mumasil Breast Milk Collection Shells work?

The shells work by comfortably sitting in your nursing bra and catching the extra milk that you would usually leak between feeds.

The Mumasil Breast Milk Collection Shells are made from 100% FDA approved food grade silicone and food grade PP. They are BPA Free, PVC, cadmium and lead FREE.

How do I clean or sanitise my Mumasil Breast Milk Collection Shells?

Wash up in warm soapy water or place in the dishwasher (top rack). Can be placed in a steam steriliser or boiling water.
Please do not use abrasive cleaning agents or solvents.
 
How do I dry my Mumasil Breast Milk Collection Shells?

Allow the Mumasil Breast Milk Collection Shells to air dry in a clean area. Store dry in a clean area or clean, closed container when not in use. Do not store wet or damp.

What should I do if the breast shells are causing pain?

The Mumasil Breast Milk Collection Shells should not cause any pain. If you experience any pain it is usually caused by your bra being too tight.

When you insert the shells we recommend loosening your bra right off so that you hardly feel the shells at all. They don't have to be tight at all to prevent leaking as the silicone moulds to your breast to catch the milk. You may sometimes need to further loosen your bra as your breast fills if you are wearing them for longer periods in between feeds.

Can I wear the Mumasil Breast Milk Collection Shells at night?

No. We recommend that you do not wear the Mumasil Breast Milk Collection Shells as there is a good chance they will leak.

How should my Mumasil Breast Milk Collection Shells sit inside my bra?

The Mumasil Breast Milk Collection Shells should sit comfortably on the breast and not press into the breast. You may need to adjust your maternity bra to allow for the collection shells to sit inside your maternity bra with less pressure against your breast.
